Just before Abby turned 8 months old, I decided it was probably time to get her a highchair. It had been on my to-do list, but I wasn't incredibly motivated for 2 reasons. One, because until a few weeks ago Abby wanted nothing to do with solid foods. Two, because there are a total of 3 highchairs in this entire town. And I didn't really like any of them. They all looked like they had been in the stores for 10 years and they were all dusty. Well, the baby store I like finally got a new highchair in and so we bought it. And Abby loves it!
Here is Abby with her sippy cup. She doesn't actually like to drink the water, I think she mostly just chews on it. But it seems to entertain her. Jarred baby food is extremely expensive here and it's in short supply, so I have been making homemade baby food. Surprisingly it is fairly easy. Get fresh veggies and fruit from the local market, wash, peel, chop, steam, and puree in the blender. So far Abby has eaten apples, bananas, pears, sweet potatoes, carrots and zucchini.
Yummy!
