I cannot believe that Mayah is already 4 months old! I think I have finally gotten old, because all I ever say is how fast the time is going by. Anyway, Mayah is growing and growing! She still seems so tiny to me because 3 month clothes are still a little big on her, but she has nearly doubled her birthweight, weighing in at just under 12 pounds.
She laughs a lot--when I raise her up in the air, when I play peek-a-boo, or even when anyone else in the room starts to laugh. I have been blessed to have such happy babies!
This morning I gave her a bath, and when I laid her down on the towel, she rolled over! Yay Mayah!
For the last month or so, she has been sleeping about 11-12 hours at night. I wish I could take credit for having such a wonderful sleeper, but the reality is that our room is about 55 degrees at night (because our space heater makes this annoying screeching sound and we can't sleep if it is on) so Mayah sleeps cuddled next to me. And even though I highly value having babies who sleep in their cribs at night, at this present moment I value sleep more. If you know me well, you know that sleep is one of my core values. I do not function well without it :)
4 months old= immunizations! I can no longer make Nick be the one to hold our children while they receive shots. Primarily because he is the one giving the shot. He only has 2 hands! I am in no way cut out for any type of medical anything, so I just try not to faint, and try to keep my baby from moving during the shot (which I didn't do very well at last time). Question: In the States, does a nurse hold the baby's legs during the shot, or does the parent? It seems you should have some sort of a degree for these types of things. Anyway, that is what I have to look forward to this week!
She is so precious! I love the top photo of her with the flower headband/beanie! so cute! She is growing fast! :) Good luck on the shots!
