Weekends

I love being able to stay home with my girls.  Our days are filled with reading books, playing with stuffed animals, and eating pretend food.  It is so much fun!  But during the week, the demands of daily life keep our play time in small doses, sandwiched in between running errands, language class, and countless other tasks.  On the weekends, however, we usually enjoy reading an endless stack of books, watching a movie or two, and playing until their hearts are content.  We have lots of fun on the weekends!
Nick has been traveling the last two weekends and we miss him a lot.  I make sure the girls get lots of extra snuggles and attention, and we are all really happy when he gets home!

Abigail is the ever-diligent big sister.  She always wants to make sure Mayah is warm enough, covering her with blankets at every opportunity.  She loves sharing her toys with Mayah. (I'm hoping this continues once Mayah can actually play with those toys!)  She loves holding Mayah, but when she is done, she's done.  I have to be extra alert with arms out, ready to catch Mayah when Abigail is finished holding her!
Mayah continues to be a pretty easy-going baby.  Abigail is pretty easy-going too, but she has a stubborn streak in her (not unlike both of her parents!).  But even in the first week of Mayah's life, I could tell that she was going to be more laid back than any of us.  Just in the last couple of days, I have been able to lay her down in her crib awake, and she will just drift off to sleep by herself.  It is amazing how easy that has been, with only a few seconds of crying if she loses her pacifier.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I am going to watch a movie about a princess.
