Mayah is celebrating her sixth month birthday today! I can't believe how fast she is growing. Every day she lives up her her middle name--Joy! She has such a joyful attitude and contagious smile. She is very expressive and loves to yell and talk all the time. She has started to fatten up just a little--she weighed in this week at just over 14 pounds. Some of her recent accomplishments include: grabbing her pacifier and getting it back in her mouth, sitting up for 30-40 seconds at a time, and getting herself onto a (somewhat) routine schedule. This week she had her first taste of real food, but she wasn't too excited about it.
Mayah absolutely loves her big sister. These days she loves trying to grab anything and everything Abigail is playing with. Abigail is usually very sweet and lets Mayah borrow her toys. If I am busy I will sometimes ask Abigail to keep Mayah company, and I return to find Mayah completely surrounded by stuffed animals, toys and books that Abigail has given her! Of course, Abigail also likes to say "No, Mayah!" whenever her little sister is doing anything she doesn't like. So sometimes we have to work on being more gentle and kind :)
