Thanksgiving Feast: Part 1

Last night, some of the Americans in our town hosted a Thanksgiving dinner for our Chinese friends. We invited some of our friends and teachers from school, and we were really pleased when about 12 of them showed up! It was a great opportunity to be a blessing to our friends and our community. We served lots of food, including roast, grilled pork, mashed potatoes, pumpkin bread, and french fries. Have you ever eaten a Thanksgiving meal with chopsticks before?
Before dinner, we did a Thanksgiving play about the history of the first Thanksgiving. It was so much fun! Abby and I were pilgrims who came over on the Mayflower. Nick did a great job writing and directing our play!
I think there were probably about 80 people who came. Everyone lined up and piled their plates high with lots of food. During dinner, people could draw on the tables what they were thankful for. It seemed like everyone had a great time eating and talking together. We were able to spend time with the students and teachers from our school, as well as meet some new friends!
By the end of the night, Abby had been held by more people than I could count. Here she is happy to be back in Daddy's arms!
