Zoo Adventures

In honor of Mayah's two-week birthday, we decided to take her to the zoo! Could you think of anything more exciting for a newborn? This is how Mayah felt about the trip, sweating it up in the sling:
The Chiang Mai Zoo is really neat. We paid a total of $3 to get in, plus an extra $1 for the tour. The tour tram took us all around the park, and stopped at different times to let us get out and see the animals. The tour was in Thai, so I'm not really sure how beneficial that part was. We did understand a few words, like "flamingo" and "koala." Abigail listened intently. She will probably be fluent in Thai before we leave :)
We were this close to a giraffe! It was the highlight of my day.
We spent the morning looking at monkeys, exotic birds, zebras, camels, and every other animal imaginable. We even saw this elephant just walking down the road. The guy riding the elephant apparently decided he needed some new sunglasses, so he rode the elephant through the zoo and tried on sunglasses while sitting on top of the elephant! Here he is with his new purchase:
We had a really great time letting Abigail explore the zoo. This was her first trip to a real zoo. (She has been to the "zoo" in our city but I don't really count it, since the entire zoo and all of its animals could fit in our apartment.) I'm glad we braved the heat and humidity for a fun morning outdoors!
