1. The last 2 weeks in our house I have been busy with potty training! I initially tried a 3-Day Potty Training method with Abigail. To put it very simply, this is where you give your child unlimited supplies of food and drink so they will get a ton of practice using the potty, and after 3 days they are more-or-less trained. Well, that didn't go over so well with my child. Miss Routine was very bothered by the fact that I was shoving food and drink at her during non-meal times. So, things didn't go as smoothly as I expected, but all is well and it has been (mostly) fun.
2. Now that Mayah is 7 months old, we decided she needed to move out of our room at night. I anticipated the worst. She was a good sleeper at night....if I was right next to her. Well, it turns out she is an even better sleeper when she is in her own room because she now goes to sleep at 8:30 every night, and wakes up between 8:30 and 10:00 in the morning! Since she sleeps so much at night now, she has started taking just one long afternoon nap. It is amazing!
3. When we were in our provincial capital, we took the girls for checkups and had a really great experience with a pediatrician from the States. He said the girls both looked great and he had no concerns at all. Here are the girls' stats:
At 27 months old, Abigail weighs 26.5 pounds (25th percentile) and is 34.5 inches tall (50th percentile).
At 7 months old, Mayah weighs 14.5 pounds (10th percentile) and is 26 inches long (50th percentile).
We used to think our kids were on the high end of the growth charts, until we realized those were the Asian growth charts and not the American ones :)
What beautiful girls...I can't WAIT to meet them in person when you are stateside, because I will drive to WHEREVER you are to see you. :-)
ReplyDeleteYay, Tammy! You better do it, because I really want to see you!!!!
